 | an introspection of a questor | Jun 3, 2009 |
Hi guys! Welcome to my humble abode in Multiply!...I apologize for the awkwardness of my design...Nevertheless, I am trying to fix things here... I hope through this site, you can get valuable information/advice/tips from me, and of course, get to know me more (and vice-versa)... Let us all be questors in the search of our own, different horizons...explore the never-ending possibilities of spontaneity and adventure... This is what I like about blogging…I can express myself more… | random things I like to let others know about | Jan 27, 2012 |
I have started to watch clips of the "first televangelist" and the "modern-day John the Baptist". His talks are not heavy and long, yet very insightful and very true until now. Plus, Archbishop Sheen knows how to run a show, even and especially... more | critiques on the literature of our time | Jun 1, 2010 |
PART I: MAY 28, 2010 I have just finished my second reading of Felisa Batacan's novel Smaller and Smaller Circles. I bought the book last Friday (exactly a week ago) at NBS Gateway. We were supposed to study this novel in class, if Ondoy hadn't... more | just a few camera clicks away | Mar 18, 2010 |

- As usual to many exorcism films, this shows grotesque bodily contortions and eerie levitations (mga panggugulat!). However, inexplicable supernatural phenomena is a primary criterion for the go-signal of exorcism. Most of the time lang, according to what I've read, most exorcisms are only like trips to the dentist. Not that scary and gory like the ones shown in Hollywood. And most exorcisms are really, really long (taking years in fact).
Then, there is always St. Peter's Basilica to include the Church. (Why not St. John Lateran, the Pope's cathedral instead?). It is correct to involve the Church in a sense, because exorcism is a public prayer with a Church-approved rite, and the priest cannot perform an exorcism without the permission of the bishop, a representative of the Church. Also, the priest performs an exorcism, as with in the sacraments, always representing the Church, in which he gets his authority.
FYI for everyone. Looking forward to this!

- Kaya ang sarap mag-simba sa parokya namin. Simple, pero very orthodox. Ang mga pari (at servers) ay naka itim na sutana, gumamit ng Eucharistic Prayer I, at kinakanta ang mga dapat i-intone na phrases. Maayos ang altar. In short, wala kang mapipintas.
Kulang na lang ay magka-Latin mass dito (I wonder, meron kaya sa Diocese of San Pablo?). Hahaha. Judging from the efforts from our priests, I believe that the congregation will be very much ready for such a celebration.
That is why I am so proud of my parish (San Jose Mangagawa) and our parish priest, who coincidentally came from San Jose Seminary in Ateneo.
Kaya naman ganado ako kanina sa Christmas Eve mass namin.
- Family Guy also at times really becomes wholesome, and emotional at times (thus becoming true to their theme song...hahaha, the irony).
The very disturbing (yet correct) music video "Christmas time is killing us": http://vimeo.com/18027996
The whole episode is a retelling of Santa Claus, his elves, and his reindeer. And ultimately, a retelling (or in fact, the truth) of the present state of Christmas.
Very timely and something to ponder about.
Family Guy is for adults, yet in scenes like these, it actually moralizes, and thus becomes suitable for children. I remember songs in Disney fairy tales by both the good guys and the bad guys.

Many times than not, our own precautions can be our downfall. We should be always cautious, but not too much because that is paranoia already. This photo reminds me of a particular Mr. Bean scene:

Brings me back to Psychology 101 when we introduced a topic by looking at what can children say about love.

Children really are wonderful. At the heart of their curiosity is wonder, or "magic", as one child in the video said.

I've learned somewhere that one of the best means to learn something (especially academic) is to interject physical movements while studying. Never tried that though when I was studying algebra.
I think the "crap" part would come when you're studying equations and graphs in polar coordinates. :-)

A reminder, not only for priests, but also for all of us: unite our Eucharistic spirituality with our daily lives. As the final blessing goes, "Go out to love and serve the Lord". May our "Deo gratias" be honest and affirmative.
Also, may we not be "Sunday", cradle, cafeteria, or (what-have-you) Catholics.
